ABOUT

Mark wearing antenna

I really never thought I'd be a beekeeper. When my daughter Anna was 7 years old, my wife took us to the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild Honeyfest. We watched an open hive demo as the smell of the smoker, the wooden equipment,  the beeswax and the nectar overwhelmed me. A year later I took a beginner's course and set up two hives on the back roof of my South Philly rowhome. Anna started helping me with the bees, and she became the namesake of our little family startup. When my hives swarmed a few months later, I needed to find a new location far away from upset neighbors. Fast forward several years...I manage a rapidly increasing number of hives and am studying to become a Master Beekeeper. I also teach with and serve as a board member of the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild. Other than my online shop, you can find my honey and candles at a few local retailers and by visiting me at pop-ups and festivals throughout the season.

SWARMS

So, you think you found a honeybee swarm?

Contact us immediately. We'll confirm if they are honeybees and if so, we'll rescue them and hive them in one of our apiaries where they can thrive. If the swarm is out of our locale, we'll assist in finding a local beekeeper.
